Following a Hungarian

I will miss Bob very much for who shall tell me what I should have done differently. Possibly I will still hear Bob's loving, groan when I walked into city hall. I shall miss yelling over the fence as I drove by sharing my opinion! Bob always quick with a response or worse silenced me (imagine) he did not leave behind how to silence me for you all. I watched and learned from Bob at local School board meetings, Alaska Association of School Board meetings, my worst fear was when he would say, " Now just do what I tell you to do!" (like that was about to happen)!. Lobbying in Juneau was always difficult for Bob when he was attempting to train me to lobby for my community. I love to watch and follow (not) he could spot a legislator who was telling him what he wanted to hear or told him what he did not want to hear. I would listen and on occasion I would jab Bob back before he called someone and idiot. (they did hold the title Bob would give them). I new we had trouble in Juneau when I would get a note passed to me in the halls. "Meet me now some place, usually one of the empty meeting rooms" then he had a strategy and another plan. Off we would go again to the same office, over and over until I thought I might scream something extremely rude at Bob. Every time I gave up he dragged me up into the same office. We returned enough that Bob usually got what he wanted and he had a way of coming out with the project! I look now when Bob was not with me lobbying I could pull out a Bob strategy and it would work. Bob worked so hard for Wrangell, his home and our futures. To experience his devotion and Hungarian never give up helps me still today.

My very favorite memory of all the beach families gathering until the sun was gone and the kids falling asleep on the beach. Started off with Deb/kids, Vickie/kids, myself/kids spending the whole day at the beach having fun, eating, running out of food. John stops by as we decided to fight the need to go home and cook. We the women of the beach sent John with a list of foods, message to husbands and don't return until the job is done. Dad's all showed with an opinion we really had no interest in hearing. We new we would capture their vision of a beach dinner cooked by they're lovely sun burned wives (not), it became obvious they as well had to cook. We all had a great time long into the dark. Bob being the one who wanted to stay and build the fire bigger so we could enjoy our own ideas of funny and fun. If you are a friend of Bob's you know that you can go on and on about Bob. I so will miss Bob and the ability to yell across the fence as I drive by to go home. I am wondering if Bob has figured out that George Burns is not God!
